Payment Terms

All prices quoted by Hanmer Springs Attractions are in New Zealand dollars. Prices include GST and are subject to change without notice. Pre-payment in full is required in advance for all activities – please note the name that will appear on your statement is Thrillseekers Adventures Limited (trading as Hanmer Springs Attractions).

Please note that you will receive a booking confirmation email within 24 hours of your booking or e-gift card purchase being confirmed. Please bring a printed or electronic copy of your confirmation with you to present to our staff upon arrival at our attractions.

Please contact us if you have not received your confirmation within 24 hours of your purchase.

Cancellation Policy

Please contact our office on 0800 661 538 or at info@hanmerspringsattractions.nz if you wish to cancel your booking.

Bookings cancelled more than 24 hours before the trip will incur no cancellation fee. Bookings canceled within 24 hours of departure will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee, and customers who do not turn up for a departure will not be entitled to any refund.

Refunds will only be issued through the original booking office or agency. Refunds for bookings made directly with Hanmer Springs Attractions can take up to 10 working days to be processed by our payment partners Windcave and Stripe from the date the refund is actioned by our team.

We reserve the absolute right to cancel any scheduled departures as a result of road, river, or weather conditions, and the absolute right to decline to accept or retain a person as a member of a tour. We will not permit a person to participate in any of our activities if we believe the person is affected by alcohol or drugs (recreational or prescribed) such that they may be a hazard to themselves or others. Clients will be advised as soon as possible of any cancellation or partial cancellation (in these instances, clients will be entitled to a full refund or partial refund for the section of the trip that was incomplete).

Age Definition

Child and minimum ages differ depending on the activity:

  • Jet Boating: 3-13 years
  • Bungy Jumping: 10-13 years (minimum weight of 35kg applies)
  • Rafting: 6-13 years
  • Quad Biking & Buggies: minimum of 6 years as a passenger on a buggy and minimum of 16 years as a driver of a quad bike or buggy (photo ID must be presented for proof of age at check in for quad bike and buggy drivers).
  • Clay Bird Shooting: minimum of 16 years
  • Paintball: minimum of 10 years

Family ticket is valid for two adults and up to three children

Children (including 14 and 15 year olds with adult tickets) must be accompanied by an adult aged 16 years or over at all times for safety reasons. Children are able to participate in bungy jumping and paintball without an adult also partaking in these activities at the same time, but an adult must be present to sign their risk disclosure waiver prior to the activity commencing. All guests must fit safety equipment in order to participate in the activities.

Tickets

Tickets are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Activities included in a combo ticket do not need to be completed on the same day.

Loss of Property

No responsibility is accepted for loss or damage to the client’s personal property whilst on any trip.

Limitation of Liability

Thrillseekers Adventures Limited accepts no liability for any act or omission arising from a tour (including any arising from a tour not taking place) and the passenger releases, waives and holds harmless Thrillseekers Adventures Limited, its officers and/or its employees from all claims, losses, damages or expenses which arise during or in conjunction with a tour provided by Thrillseekers Adventures Limited. This includes any claims for damage caused by negligence of Thrillseekers Adventures Limited, its officers and/or its employees, and includes any claim for any costs including legal fees that may be incurred as a result of any such claims, losses, damages or expenses whether valid or not.

Thrillseekers Adventures Limited does not accept any liability for the acts, omissions, or default whether negligent or otherwise of those companies or other persons providing services in connection with a tour by Thrillseekers Adventures Limited.

Without limiting the above, Thrillseekers Adventures Limited shall be under no obligation or liability to any person as a result of any inaccuracy, misdescription or changes to any tour made by Thrillseekers Adventures Limited or any other party.

Indemnity

The passenger indemnifies Thrillseekers Adventures Limited, its officers and/or its employees against all claims, losses, damages or expenses (including any costs including legal fees that may be incurred as a result of any claims, losses, damages or expenses whether valid or not) that he or she or their executors, administrators, next of kin, successors or assignees may have or assert for any claims, losses, damages or expenses whether valid or not.

Acts of God

Thrillseekers Adventures Limited has no liability for losses or additional expenses incurred by passengers due to sickness, weather, strikes, delays or changes in air or other transport services, force majeure, Act of God, or other causes outside the control of Thrillseekers Adventures Limited.

Statutory Protections Under New Zealand Law

These terms and conditions are to be read subject to the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 and do not affect the customer’s rights as expressed in the Acts.

Photography, Security Images and Video

Photos, video and security images may be taken of participants at any time for security and marketing. You agree that photos may be published online and may be used for promotional purposes. We respect New Zealand privacy laws and any images posted online will be removed by request. There is to be no commercial photography of the attractions without the express permission of management (permission arrangements are available). Use of drones is only permitted when pre-approved with Hanmer Springs Attractions management.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. We have put together the following privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to provide privacy to our website visitors and customers.

Use of Your Information
We take your personal information very seriously. We may request personal information such as your name, address, phone number or email address in order to:

  1. fulfil requests for our products and services
  2. communicate with you and respond to your enquiries
  3. enable you to create an account, store login credentials, and customise your account
  4. contact you from time to time about our products and services
  5. conduct occasional research about our products and service

We may also collect usage information about your engagement with our website to improve the user experience, such as pages viewed, time spent on the site, etc.

We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. The information we hold will be secure, accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies, we will delete or correct it promptly.

We will only release account and other personal information if we believe release is appropriate to comply with law, facilitate court proceedings, enforce or apply our terms and conditions, or protect the rights, property, or our safety, our users, or others.

Updating Your Personal Information
We will provide you with ways in which you can alter your personal data, including changing your email address, password, phone number, etc. You may also opt out of non-administrative emails at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in promotional emails, or by emailing us at info@christchurchattractions.nz.

Collecting Usage Information
As mentioned above we collect usage information when you visit our website in order to improve the user experience. We use Cookies and Pixel tags to collect this data. Cookies are small files containing a string of characters that are stored in a browser-related file on your computer’s hard drive when you use our website. Pixel tags are small graphic files that are placed on our pages. Cookies and Pixel tags are widely used on most major websites. No personally identifiable information is tracked or kept.

Third Party Advertising
Third party vendors, including Google, show our ads on sites on the internet. These vendors use their own cookies or pixel tags to serve adverts to you based on your prior visits to our website. We are not responsible for the information practices of these third parties.

You may opt out of Google’s use of cookies by visiting the Google Advertising opt-out page.

Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics on our website to track your actions and help us optimise our site for conversions and usability. While we can see data gathered over a timeframe, we do not collect personally identifying information from any source as part of the terms of service of Google Analytics.

A condition of our use of Google Analytics is that we make reasonable endeavours to bring to your attention the following statement:

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. We have implemented Google Analytics demographic and interest reporting based on the Google Display Network in order to provide information about users that is used to optimise our website. Any data collected by Google for the purposes of Google Analytics will be treated according to Google’s Privacy Policy, if you would like to opt out of being tracked by Google Analytics, then you can do so using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Do Not Track
If you are using a modern browser, you have the option to enable a “Do Not Track” feature in the browser’s privacy settings.

This has no effect on whether we collect any information you directly submit to us, but may restrict our ability to measure your anonymous path through our website or certain information about your browser/operating system.

Emailing
We may provide tools on this website for you to tell a friend about products, and send out wish lists. These tools must not be misused in any way to send spam or other content which would violate our Privacy Policy or Terms and Conditions. We do not permanently store, sell, or rent these email messages or the email addresses.

Credit Card Security
Your credit card details do not get processed or transmitted through or via the Hanmer Springs Attractions website; all transactions are processed through a secure payment service provider. We use Windcave to provide this service. Windcave hosts and manages the payment page. All transaction sessions are stored and processed in encrypted strings. However, we will not be responsible for any damages, consequential losses (whether direct or indirect) suffered by a customer whose credit card is fraudulently used or is used in an unauthorised manner as a result of using this website.
