What you need to know

Our Jet Boat experience includes approximately 30 minutes on the river
A minimum age of 3 years applies (participants aged 15 years and under must be accompanied on the activity by an adult aged 16 years or over), and all guests must fit safety equipment
We supply life jackets and a full-length spray jacket
A minimum of 4 adults per boat applies to confirm a departure: should the selected trip not meet minimum numbers our staff will be in touch with booked guests as early as possible.
Photos and GoPro video footage of your Jet Boat ride can be purchased at an additional cost
Our onsite snack bar supplies drinks, ice creams, snacks and light meals
Our health & safety practices have been assessed by independent outdoor safety experts and we are AdventureMark Safety Certified.
Hanmer Springs Attractions reserves the right to refuse participation should any person be affected by alcohol, medication or any other substance such that they may be a risk to themselves or others.

Getting here

You’ll find us at 839 Hanmer Springs Road, just past the turnoff towards Hanmer Springs from State Highway 7 and just before the Waiau Ferry Bridge. There’s a large carpark with plenty of parking for cars, campervans, and coaches.

For your convenience, we offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off from most accommodation providers in Hanmer Springs on request. Please contact our reservations team at least 24 hours prior to your booking date to organise this service.

We had a BLAST!!! I've been on all the jet boats in NZ and Hamner was my last one to do. I very much enjoyed myself and this time my husband and 7 year old came on this one. We were going to the hot pools but decided to try our luck with the jet boats first our daughter was a bit upset by this at first but changed her mind once she felt (her words) rumble of the engines! She said she was glad we did the jet boats her only issue was she wished they would go faster and closer to the cliffs haha. She liked our driver Daniel same as us and thought he was awesome! We finished and she asked to go again 😂 Love the fact we could leave out keys and phones in a locked box behind the counter. Thanks so much for the choice experience team and Miss 7 said don't hold back next time she can handle it!

We “tripped over” the Hamner Springs jet boat sign en route to Hamner and stopped at the viewpoint over the river and saw the boats speeding up and down and couldn’t resist going back and booking ourselves onto the next available trip. Good decision! We doubled our luck with Maddy being our pilot and her driving the fastest boat in their fleet. Seriously good fun and all down to her and her skills. She left us to deal with a team of two auditors who were checking compliance with safety requirements. I guess they will have been as impressed by her as we were!
