COVID-19 Protection Framework

What the traffic light system means for Christchurch & Hanmer Springs Attractions

Christchurch & Hanmer Springs Attractions has adopted the COVID-19 Protection Framework to ensure our attractions can operate as freely as possible while keeping our staff and visitors safe.
Under the traffic light system visitors to our businesses will need to :

  • Be double vaccinated and show their government My Vaccine Pass on arrival (for those aged 12 years 3 months and over)
  • Scan in using the NZ COVID Tracer App
  • Wear a mask in all indoor areas
  • Comply with any additional public health measures that are in place at the time of their visit

Our staff and contractors will be complying with these points as well, and sanitiser will be available for guests and staff to use.
Under the current traffic light system we will be open at all levels. Please note that some seating restrictions will be in place for our Christchurch Tram, Christchurch Gondola cafe and Tramway Restaurant businesses at the red traffic light setting.
For visitors affected by the framework who can no longer use existing tickets or vouchers, we are happy to discuss this with you. Please contact us at info@hanmerspringsattractions.nz.
We hope to welcome you to our attractions soon.

FAQs
Do I need to wear a mask?
The traffic light system recommends masks are worn at all levels, so we are asking our guests and staff to continue wearing their masks indoors at all traffic light levels. Guests under the aged of 12 do not need to wear masks.
Do I need to scan in?
Yes, scanning in using the NZ COVID Tracer App (or manually signing in) is required at all traffic light levels. Please ensure you scan in before entering our premises.
If I’m travelling as part of a group, can we let you know in advance by phone or email that everyone in the group has been double vaccinated without having to show our My Covid Passes?
Please note that we will need to sight and/or verify all My Covid Passes of guests 12 years 3 months and over entering our attractions, so we will need to see the passes of everyone in the group on arrival.
What do I do if I’m not double vaccinated and can’t use my tickets or vouchers?
Please contact us at info@hanmerspringsattractions.nz with details about your pass or tickets and we will discuss this with you.
I’m double vaccinated but don’t have a My Vaccine Pass. Can I still enter your attractions?
Unfortunately we do need to sight and/or verify your My Vaccine Pass on arrival to allow entry to our attractions. If you don’t already have a My Vaccine Pass you can visit the covid19.govt.nz website or phone 0800 222 478 to get your pass.
